The aim of this page is to answer some of the most Frequently Asked Questions we receive. It will be updated regularly as more questions get asked!

If you cannot find the question you're looking for, it may have already been covered in the Policies And Terms section of the site.

Age & ID

Is there an age limit?

By the start date of ConFuzzled (May 7th, 2010) you MUST be at least 18 years old. This is due to liabilities imposed on us by UK law and, because of this, we have decided to not allow underage participants. We will be checking the Passports/ID cards of all participants as we are required to do so by law.

Do I need ID to attend?

Yes. You MUST present some form of CURRENT photo ID with your date of birth on it at Registration, such as a Passport, Driving Licence, Young Persons Railcard/Coachcard, National ID Card, International Student Identity Card or any cards bearing the Home Office PASS mark.

Note that International Youth Travel Cards and NUS cards (unless they're also ISIC cards) will NOT be accepted, as these do not require proof of age before being issued.

NO ID = No Registration.

Cancellation & Transfers

Can I cancel my place?

As part of the distance selling act, you are entitled to cancel your registration within TWO WEEKS of it being confirmed and receive a full refund.

If you wish to cancel after this time, we regret that we will be unable to offer you a refund.

We will let you transfer your ticket to somebody else at no cost during this time.

Our contracts with our suppliers require us to confirm the number of attendees very early and we have little financial backing to compensate for cancellations.

If the event is cancelled by force majeure we will offer a refund when money is paid via our insurance agents.

Can I Transfer My Membership?

We will allow a transfer of your Standard or Sponsor membership to someone else. To do this, you must inform us via email (to our registration team) Stating the person you wish to transfer to and if they have paid you. The person you wish to arrange this with also needs to contact us.

We ask both of you to contact us for security reasons.

The new member must supply us with his/her full personal details. There is no cost for this.

People showing up at the convention whose names are not in our database will be asked to leave.

Payments

Can I pay for myself and my friend(s)?

Certainly.

When their registration goes through, you'll need to make their payment at the same time, or you can pay as a group by bank transfer or in person at HSBC.

Can I pay in instalments?

As we will have high demand for spaces, we cannot offer this service.

How can I pay?

During registration you will be asked to complete payment via card payment, PayPal, Cash Payment at HSBC or Bank Transfer. Details such as our account number are only given when you register.

If you cannot pay, the registration spot will not be held as per previous years.

The membership fee for bank transfer is due within 5 Working days for international payments and 3 working days for UK payments. (There are exceptions to this rule, depending on your bank, but we will work on an individual basis for bank transfers.) We will provisionally hold your space for the time we advise and confirm your registration formally once the payment has reached our account.

If we don't hear anything from you then your registration will be cancelled, with no exceptions.

We will only contact you on your main registered email address for data security.

My registration went wrong, what do I do?

First off, don't panic. Just email registration {at} confuzzled.org.uk and we'll sort it out for you.

What do I get for my money?

We have three kinds of ticket available and ConFuzzled is pre-registration ONLY.

Standard membership includes 3 nights accommodation (incl. Breakfast ONLY), registration, all convention activities, a conbook and some extras. Details are provided on the Convention Pricing page when registration opens.

Sponsor membership also includes further extras.

What food is included as part of my registration?

An English Breakfast and continental selection is included as part of your registration if you are staying at the hotel with a standard or sponsor membership.

Sponsors will also receive a care basket containing sweets.

What about my data?

When you submit a registration to it is held in a secure format on our registration system and we are the only people who can see this. Data is held outside the EU on our server in Newark, New Jersey, USA.

And if your income exceeds the costs?

ConFuzzled is being organised by a not for profit Limited Company, the accounts will be available from Companies House at the appropriate juncture.

Should we make a "profit" from running the event then any money made by the company is required to be reinvested into the company, and will go towards making the next year even better.
