COVID-19 Guidance

We here at ConFuzzled are aware that COVID-19 is still very much a part of our lives and will continue to be so for many months to come.

As such we have decided to implement the following guidance for ConFuzzled 2022. This guidance is based on UK Government recommendations for large events such as ours as well as having been drawn from the recommendations made by our medically trained members of staff.

This guidance will be updated based on changes in circumstances (such as the recent Omicron variant) to reflect the latest position.

All attendees must be vaccinated

  1. The convention is a multi-day indoor event with over 2000 attendees. This will reduce our ability for social distancing and subsequently increase the risk of transmission.
  2. All attendees will be required to present a valid COVID Pass as identified by the UK Government at the time of the event.
    • COVID Pass Info for UK Residents & UK Citizens vaccinated abroad can be seen here.
    • For International Attendees please see the Citizens Advice page.

Face masks

  1. ConFuzzled’s Mask Mandate will follow the guidance as stated by the government at the time of the event.
  2. See here for UK Government Mask Wearing Rules.

Enhanced sanitisation options

  1. The venue has set up sanitiser stations at regular points around the public spaces of the hotel, these will be for guest use.
  2. The convention will be providing alcohol sprays and disinfectants in the fursuit lounge so the drying racks can be disinfected.
  3. In 2016 our engineering team introduced ceramic corona discharge devices to all our fursuit dryers to introduce a low level of ozone into the air fed through the dryers.
  4. ConFuzzled has always provided snacks, sweets, and water so fursuiters can re-charge in the lounge, we will be ensuring this provision is provided in individually wrapped packets or dispensers instead of the open bowls we have used in the past.
  5. The deep freeze system for chilling people’s cool-down packs is treated with a skin-safe biocide + isopropyl alcohol in the water.

Airflow and ventilation

  1. One of the most important aspects of making the Hotel COVID safe is active ventilation and the circulation of fresh air.
  2. All Hilton bedrooms and event rooms have active air-conditioning systems already in place.
  3. Since ConFuzzled 2018 we have had an active air circulation system in use within the convention spaces of the hotel which uses large fans to supplement the venues HVAC system and creates a constant inflow of fresh air.
